Hannah Senesh was born in 1921 in Budapest Hungary. When she was growing up Hannah didn’t have a father because he died when she was only six years old. As a result Hannah grew up with her mother and brother in a very small home. By 1939 Hannah was all grown up and went to Palestine University where she studied agricultural. During college she found a great interest in what was happening to Jews in the concentration camps. Because of this she travelled to Britain and fought against Fascism. One of Hannah’s goals was to persuade the partisans to cross the border into Hungary to rescue as many Jews as she could from the camps. When Hannah first started to achieve her goal she was captured by the German Army where she was tortured for almost a year before she died in November 1944.
